Prolific Pick’em — The Best Underdog Fantasy College Football Plays of Week 7

Photo Acquired From: ESPN

Week 6 was horrible. One of our guys didn’t even catch a pass so he pushed. The other two lost big time. It was bad and I give y’all full permission to fade me. So here are my picks…

Rodney Hammond Jr. — Higher Than 48.5 Rushing Yards

This isn’t the prettiest play. I’m very cognizant of that. But this could be an optimal time to buy low on a short number here in a game where Pitt looks to play spoiler to a red-hot Louisville team. I think this game might just be closer than many expect which would put Pitt into a situation where running the rock is a viable option to succeed. When Rodney Hammond Jr. gets double digit carries, he tends to surpass the 50-yard mark. There’s not too much else to this one. It’s just strong value and a dart worth throwing.

Audric Estimé – Higher Than 8.5 Receiving Yards

Against a horrific USC defense, I think it’s extremely important to make a play here. I like Sam Hartman to surpass the 262.5 passing yard mark, and I like Audric Estimé to surpass 96.5 rushing yards and eclipse the 8.5 receiving yard mark. I’m going to make all three official plays. But for our entry, only Estimé’s receiving yards will make it. USC should dictate the pace here thanks to its offense. Plenty of points, up tempo, defenses getting gashed. Notre Dame will need to adapt and play a quicker brand of offense and get the ball to its top playmakers. Estimé should be seen as a weapon in the short passing game, and I’m just talking about dumping it off to him and letting him cook a putrid tackling team in open space. If Notre Dame is smart, Estimé should crush this number.

Season Single Picks: 10-14-1

Season Entries: 2-6

I am a diehard UCLA fan that has enjoyed (?) mediocrity year after year. My favorite CFB moment was witnessing UCLA comeback from 34 down against Texas A&M. Being at the Rose Bowl for that historic moment is something I’ll never forget. I have written about CFB since I was 14 and my favorite thing to do is give under-the-radar athletes the recognition they deserve. You might know me from @NoContextCFB !
