College Football Fans Share Bold Predictions for Week 5

It’s bold prediction time folks! In a sport filled with so much unmitigated chaos, would it be right to slander the boldest of predictions? I think not! And yet, I’ll do it anyway, as will you. ‘Tis the nature of this world. What can we do? I can let y’all cook. That’s what I can do. I tweeted asking for bold predictions in Week 5 and plenty of you replied with fiery takes! We’ll look over a few and live in a world of pandemonium.

I don’t know why but I didn’t reply to my own tweet with a bold prediction… whoops. Auburn beats Georgia on a last minute game-winning field goal by Alex McPherson. Why not?!

Big Game Boomer is looking for the Pac-12’s annual run of cannibalization to begin with the Beavers running things in Reser. I do like them to win as well. I can’t confirm nor deny if it’s an absolute whooping.

You know how the Blutman family rolls. Riley Leonard truthers, Coach Elko enthusiasts, Duke believers.

Look, there is zero reason for this game to be close. Zero. But us West Coast fans and some select folks east of the Mississippi know… Pac-12 fans do not want to see their highly-touted team playing an after dark game in the state of Arizona. Each and every single one of us have suffered numerous traumatic experiences from watching our beloved Pac-12 friends blow the season in Tempe or Tucson. Please Huskies… avoid the trap.

I’ve been a little vocal about it and I’ll get louder and louder about it if need be. You have to make big decisions in this industry, and that means parting ways with people who did so much for your program. But if Dabo Swinney doesn’t adapt to this sport, you have to seriously consider making a change. And if a blowout loss to Syracuse doesn’t get Dabo to adapt, what will?

Not even bold. Next.

I like the optimism here but we all know Nebraska would just throw this game away in comical fashion if it’s close late, right? Right?!?!

Legitimately an appropriate reaction if you’re a Texas fan.

The spread for this one is 36.5! If Iowa scores 30 at minimum… just do the math.

As a college football fan I’m so here for this. The massive 17-point spread worries me though, and I do think Texas takes care of business.

70-20. Safe to say it’ll be a rough two weeks for Broncos and Buffs fans. Surely the Broncos beat the Bears though!

Why is everyone on the Iowa offense train?!

There’s another one on Auburn shocking Georgia!

The duality of man (I’m sure he just meant Max Johnson will have put this game out of reach in a Texas A&M victory).

Why we gotta slander Grayson McCall? Smh my head.

There are plenty more takes to check out in the thread on Twitter. Thanks for all the responses!

I am a diehard UCLA fan that has enjoyed (?) mediocrity year after year. My favorite CFB moment was witnessing UCLA comeback from 34 down against Texas A&M. Being at the Rose Bowl for that historic moment is something I’ll never forget. I have written about CFB since I was 14 and my favorite thing to do is give under-the-radar athletes the recognition they deserve. You might know me from @NoContextCFB !
