Prolific Pick’em — The Best Underdog Fantasy College Football Plays of Week 3

Last week was bad… Quite unfortunate to say the least. Went 0-3 as Jalen Milroe threw an early interception, Xavier Worthy beat us quickly and then didn’t do much else, and Benjamin Yurosek was a few yards shy of eclipsing his total. 0-3. It happens, tough cookies. We move and look to rebound.

Jayden Daniels — Lower Than 2.0 Passing TDs

With a need to get back on track brings me back to ol’ reliable. Hit me with the SpongeBob meme. We need the good vibes. We won when we faded Jayden Daniels in Week 1 vs. LSU as he only threw one touchdown. The kid tossed five last week against Grambling, which has inflated this number for really no reason at all. This is a sneaky tough road game in an environment with a million cowbells that won’t stop ringing all game long. The Bulldogs defense is underrated. Zach Arnett has these kids playing so physically and disruptive. It’s gonna be a tough game, and Daniels tends to struggle throwing the ball in these games against quality opponents. I have to fade him here.

Sahmir Hagans — Higher Than 40.5 Receiving Yards

Sahmir Hagans is still poised for a pretty big season for Duke despite kicking the year off with receiving yard totals of 25 and 39 on three catches in each game. The 5-foot-10 wideout is a big play threat that can do some serious damage downfield. This Northwestern team reeks. We all know that. The secondary is a mess and can be exposed with ease. I think a big part of Duke’s offensive success this fall will be through the vertical passing game. An aspect that the Blue Devils haven’t used much this season, but that’ll change eventually. As Duke gets prepared for a marquee matchup with Notre Dame at the end of the month, expect Riley Leonard and Hagans to get connected and build that strong connection up.

D.J. Uiagalelei — Lower Than 0.5 Interceptions

The D.J. Uiagalelei redemption tour is well underway. Through two games, D.J. has completed 28 of 38 attempts with five touchdowns and no interceptions. I don’t really see him throwing a pick this week either against San Diego State. The Oregon State scheme is super quarterback-friendly. D.J. just has to be calm and poised as he throws accurate balls behind an elite offensive line and stellar run game. It’s a dream scenario for D.J. and a complete 180 to what he dealt with at Clemson. He will throw some picks this season but I doubt one comes this week.

Travis Hunter – Higher Than 0.5 Receiving TDs

Through two games, Travis Hunter has caught 14 passes and turned ‘em into 192 receiving yards, but no touchdowns. That’s going to change this week. “College GameDay” is in Boulder, the Hunter Heisman campaign is still cooking, and Jay Norvell just lit a fire under Deion Sanders. This game has all the potential to be a bloodbath, and I just see Hunter dancing in the end zone after scoring once or twice.

I am a diehard UCLA fan that has enjoyed (?) mediocrity year after year. My favorite CFB moment was witnessing UCLA comeback from 34 down against Texas A&M. Being at the Rose Bowl for that historic moment is something I’ll never forget. I have written about CFB since I was 14 and my favorite thing to do is give under-the-radar athletes the recognition they deserve. You might know me from @NoContextCFB !
